While working as an assistant pastry chef at a cozy café in New Zealand, I discovered the charm of Madeleines—their signature shell shape, delicate crumb, and buttery aroma instantly captured my heart. These little cakes, so simple yet so elegant, quickly became my favorite to bake.
When I returned home to Malaysia, I realized how rare Madeleines were here. That inspired me to recreate the same magic I experienced abroad. After countless batches, tweaks, and taste tests, I finally perfected my own recipe—soft, moist, and just the right amount of sweetness. The joy on my family and friends’ faces after tasting them made every effort worthwhile.
To me, Madeleines are more than just a dessert. They’re a reminder of my journey, the incredible chefs who mentored me, and the unforgettable memories from my working holiday in New Zealand. Each batch I bake carries a bit of that story, and I’m so excited to share it with you.
From my kitchen to your heart, thank you for being part of this journey.
